VEGA! A name that lies like fog over the scene. Over 10 years ago still honored as newcomer of the year, the Frankfurt has arrived today at the top of the hip hop scene. Only a few musicians manage to sell out concerts and make the halls boil over even so many years after their debut album. VEGA does.
In 2015, he even made national headlines with his album “Kaos” when he knocked Helene Fischer off the number one spot in the German album charts. In the meantime, he has released seven studio albums and several mixtapes, all of which have charted in the Top10, most even in the Top5 of the German album charts.
His real name is Andre Witter. He was born in Langen, grew up in Altenstadt in the Wetterau. His stage name VEGA has nothing to do with the fact that he lives vegan. But rather: It is the name of his favorite character from Quentin Tarantino’s gangster cult film “Pulp Fiction”: John Travolta as Vincent Vega.
